We all need it sometimes...

I'm updating this section, please bear with me and check back soon for more info.


Reiki energy is always within us and available to us, so even if you haven't been attuned to reiki, you can still practice self-healing. With a comfortable posture, meditation, recitation of the reiki precepts, and hands-on healing, you can begin your reiki self-healing journey.

Reiki Healing Therapy - FAQs

What is Reiki Healing Therapy?

Reiki is a type of energy healing and is a complementary therapy. It is sometimes used as a palliative or supportive therapy for people with cancer. Summary. The Japanese word Reiki means universal energy. It aims to relax you, ease stress and tension and help with well being.

How does Reiki Healing Therapy work?

Reiki is a technique that uses energy force to reduce stress and anxiety and encourage relaxation. The method uses gentle touch and placement for healing and tries to improve balance in your body. It does not treat conditions on its own but can be used to support traditional treatment you may receive.

What can I expect from a Reiki Healing Therapy treatment?

The Practitioner places their hands gently on or over the body; there is no massage or manipulation. Reiki can also be given over a distance. Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all.

What are the effects of Reiki Healing Therapy treatment?

Reiki restores you to a state of balance by unlocking your body's natural healing abilities. It directly influences your central nervous system – it allows you to relax. Once you are relaxed physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing takes place.

What is a Reiki Master?

A Reiki Master is practitioner trained to the highest level of certification (Level 4 - Reiki Master). A Reiki Master is trained and qualified to practice and teach others. 

I'm attending session, can I park at the clinic?

On the High Street there is parking. However, this is time restricted. Please see individual signage for parking restriction.


You can park in side roads off of the clinic free of charge. Please ensure to check for any parking restrictions which may be enforced. You are best to allow 15-20 minutes before your session time, if you are driving to the clinic.

I have further questions, what should I do next?

It's only natural to have questions about a therapy you may not have experience before. If you do have any questions which are not answered above, please contact me to find out more. 

I want to book a session but can I change the date if I need to?

Currently 13th April is the only available date as a trial to see whether there a demand at Tarporley Clinic. However, further appointment dates may be added. You can amend your time slot subject to availability. 

Self Meditation

What is self meditation?

Self meditation consists of taking a little time to focus your attention to calm the mind. 


Breathing is a common focus point in many different types of meditation. Because staying focused on your breath removes distractions, worries, and restlessness from the mind.

What is the best environment for self meditation?

Whilst you can self meditate anywhere at anytime that suits, you should consider the following elements for maximum benefit.


Lighting: Soft, natural lighting is ideal for a meditation space. If possible, it should be in a location that gets plenty of natural light during the day.


Decor: Choose meditation space decor that is calming and peaceful. This might include candles, scents, plants, or naturalistic artwork.

How long should you self meditate for?

There's no rule about how long a self meditation session should last. As life can be busy and demanding aiming for 20 minutes is a good starting point. If possible, it can be useful to meditate at the start of the day to set you up well for what's ahead and in the evening to help you let go of tension before you go to sleep.
